A United Kingdom 1992-1993 Royal Mint European Community silver proof fifty pence coin, struck to commemorate the UK presidency of the Council of Ministers and the completion of the single European market. The reverse features the Mary Milner Dickens design with inscriptions 1992, UK, 1993, and 50 PENCE, along with the designer initials WMD. The obverse bears the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf. Struck in .925 sterling silver, the coin features a proof finish and the standard heptagonal edge. It is presented in its original Royal Mint navy blue box with a Certificate of Authenticity and is housed in a clear protective capsule. This silver proof issue was limited to a total mintage of 35,000 pieces. Catalog reference: KM# 960a.
