A partial dinner service manufactured from fine vitrified earthenware by John Maddock & Sons Ltd, Burslem, Staffordshire. The pieces feature a vibrant polychrome floral pattern in a clobbered style, with stylized flowers in iron red, cobalt blue, green, and purple. The decoration is bordered by a continuous ochre laurel leaf band and finished with a gilt line at the rim. The set consists of a large oval serving platter, a circular lidded tureen with twin scrolled handles and a scrolled finial, and a set of dinner plates. Each piece bears a printed reddish-brown factory mark to the underside consisting of a crown above a circular band containing the name John Maddock & Sons, with England at the centre and Royal Vitreous below.

Condition report:
Overall good condition with minor rubbing to the gilt rims and light surface scratches consistent with use. Fine crazing is present on some pieces, which is typical for earthenware of this manufacture and period.
