A collection of three vintage lighting devices. The lot features a gas-powered lantern mounted onto a green EP 500 self-sealing butane canister. This lamp includes a metal frame cage and a frosted glass shade. The remaining two items are traditional hurricane-style lanterns of pressed steel construction. One example retains remnants of light blue paint and is embossed with the markings MADE IN CHINA on the top chimney cap. The second hurricane lantern is characterised by a heavy, overall rust patina. Both hurricane lanterns feature clear glass globes and protective wire guards, resembling the designs of manufacturers such as Feuerhand and Frowo.
Condition report:
All items are in an uncleaned, as found condition. The collection exhibits significant age-related wear, including extensive surface rust, pitting, and corrosion to the metal components. The glass globes and chimneys are heavily soiled with dirt and cobwebs but appear to be free from major cracks or chips. The butane canister shows surface oxidisation and staining. These items have not been tested for functionality.
