Two vintage figural costume jewellery brooches of base metal construction with gold-toned plating. The first brooch is modelled as a leaping dolphin with a high-polished finish and cast detailing to the eye and fins. It is fitted with a pin and revolving safety catch to the reverse. The second brooch is fashioned as a frog with a textured red enamel body and green enamel accents on the hind legs. The centre of the back is set with an oval dark green cabochon and the eyes are inset with two small clear faceted rhinestones. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on either piece.
Condition report:
Both items appear in good overall condition. The enamel on the frog brooch remains intact and all stones are present. The polished surface of the dolphin brooch shows minor surface wear and light scratching consistent with age and use. The pin mechanisms are in working order.
