A pair of bronze school attendance medals from East Ham, London. The lot includes a 1902 medal issued by the East Ham School Board featuring a St George and dragon type reverse, and a 1905 medal issued by the East Ham Education Authority featuring a borough coat of arms reverse with the motto PROGRESSIO CUM POPULO. Both medals are personalised with the name M. HOCKINGS for perfect attendance. The 1905 medal is fitted with a suspension loop, while the 1902 medal is pierced at the top.
Condition report:
Both medals exhibit a dark, aged patina with significant surface wear and traces of verdigris in the recessed areas. The 1902 medal is pierced at the 12 o\'clock position and is missing its original suspension ring. The 1905 medal retains a metal suspension loop.
