A group of decorative ceramic items consisting of an octagonal jug and a matching bucket-shaped vessel decorated in an English Imari style, together with a fluted white china lidded sugar bowl and cream jug. The Imari-style pieces are likely ironstone or heavy earthenware, featuring hand-painted decoration in cobalt blue, iron red, and gold. The pattern incorporates stylized floral motifs, scrolling foliage, and diamond-shaped panels containing hand-painted script marks resembling a stylized 2 or S. The bucket-shaped vessel has a scalloped rim and a twisted metal swing handle. The two-piece fluted set is decorated with hand-painted wild strawberry vines, blossoms, and fruit in shades of red and green with gilded rims.
Condition report:
The Imari-style bucket-shaped vessel has a significant chip to the upper rim. There is noticeable wear and rubbing to the gilding on both Imari pieces. The metal handle of the bucket shows oxidation and surface wear. The fluted strawberry pattern sugar bowl and jug are in good overall condition with no visible chips or cracks; minor wear is present on the gilt rims.
