A group of glazed white earthenware nursery items by Wedgwood, featuring illustrations and text from the Beatrix Potter series. The items are presented in an original Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle Nursery Set cardboard box with a polystyrene insert. The collection includes a side plate featuring a scene of Lucie at Little-town farm and narrative text from The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, a mug depicting Lucie and Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, and a small dish or saucer illustrating Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle’s laundry with narrative text. Also included in the box is a bowl featuring Mrs. Rabbit with narrative text from The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Each piece is decorated with multi-colour transfer-printed scenes and narrative borders. The presentation box is printed with the manufacturer’s name, set title, and the Beatrix Potter signature.
Condition report:
The ceramic pieces appear to be in very good condition, with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of repair. The original cardboard presentation box shows some storage wear, including minor scuffing, edge creasing, and small tears to the corners.
