A vintage propelling pencil crafted from 925 silver. The cylindrical barrel is decorated with a fine longitudinal engine-turned pattern and terminates in a polished, tapered cone tip. The top of the pencil features a suspension ring fitted with a light blue corded textile tassel. The piece is presented in a period two-piece cardboard box featuring a cream-coloured textured snakeskin-effect exterior and a shaped interior insert. While a small indentation is visible near the suspension loop, no specific maker’s marks or hallmarks are legible in the provided images.
Condition report:
The pencil is in good vintage condition. The 925 silver surfaces show light atmospheric tarnish and minor surface abrasions consistent with age. The engine-turned detail remains well-defined. The blue tassel is intact but shows minor fraying to the corded strands. The presentation box displays light shelf wear and rubbing to the corners and edges but remains structurally sound.
