Mason, ‘Household Cavalry’. A vintage textured print on board depicting members of the Household Cavalry on horseback set against the backdrop of Buckingham Palace and the Victoria Memorial in London. Executed in a mid-century impressionistic style, the work uses a palette of muted ochre and blue tones with accents of red in the guards’ uniforms. The print has a textured surface finish intended to simulate the appearance of an oil painting. A descriptive label on the reverse from ‘Messrs Ward Bros. Ltd., Waterdale, Doncaster, Yorks.’ identifies the title, attributes the work to the artist Mason, and provides dimensions. The label also features a stylized ‘JR’ logo and the order number 13842. The piece is housed in a contemporary light-toned wooden frame with a gilt inner slip.
