A set of Royal Winton Grimwades ironstone kitchen canisters and storage jars. The pieces feature a white-glazed earthenware body of bulbous, panelled form. Each item is decorated with relief-moulded bamboo or twig-style borders and handles, hand-painted in a vibrant green enamel. The jars are graduated in size. The bases bear a printed backstamp in dark grey comprising the text ROYAL WINTON GRIMWADES in an arc above a three-feather crest, with IRONSTONE, STAFFORDSHIRE, and ENGLAND below. Small hand-painted green marks are also present on some bases.
Condition report:
The set exhibits overall heavy crazing to the glaze, consistent with the age and material of the pieces. There are six jars present with five corresponding lids. No significant chips, cracks, or restorations are visible.
