This lot comprises a collection of assorted hand tools, primarily constructed from forged iron and steel. The assembly includes a large curved pry bar with a flattened tip, several double-ended open spanners of various sizes, and a selection of metal shanks and bars which may be cold chisels or punch tools. Also present is a small single socket and a small cylindrical brass-toned fitting. The tools are contained within a circular metal riddle or sieve featuring a wire-mesh base and a rolled metal rim. No maker’s marks or size designations are clearly legible due to extensive surface oxidation. The overall style and construction are consistent with mid-20th-century automotive or agricultural equipment.
Condition report:
The items are in as-found condition with heavy, uniform surface oxidation and pitting across all metal surfaces. The tools appear structurally sound but require thorough cleaning and restoration. The metal sieve shows some minor distortion to the wire mesh but remains intact.
