This lot comprises an assortment of decorative animal figurines, predominantly featuring owls in various styles and materials. Included is a large folk art style owl, carved directly into a section of a natural log with the bark retained on the base. The piece features stylized eyes and deeply incised feather patterns following the natural wood grain. Also present is a carved wooden owl on a circular plinth with polychrome painted details, including yellow and black eyes, a dark beak, and green-tipped wings. A smaller owl carving in dark-stained wood is perched on a square-moulded plinth and displays finely detailed plumage. The collection further features a stylized wooden figurine of a seated cat with an ochre finish and a painted red bow collar. Completing the lot is a miniature cast metal owl with outstretched wings, displaying a greenish verdigris patina and simple incised circular eyes. No maker marks, signatures, or factory stamps are visible on any of the items.
Condition report:
The items are generally in good condition, commensurate with age and use. The large wooden owl displays natural radial shrinkage cracks to its log base. There is minor wear and light paint loss to the surfaces of the polychrome owl and the cat figurine. The cast metal owl shows a consistent aged patina. No significant chips or repairs are visible.
