This lot comprises two collector dolls constructed with bisque porcelain heads and hands on soft cloth bodies. The first doll features incised markings to the back of the neck reading ALBERON DESIGNED BY ANNE SHIRLEY 1993, accompanied by a small fish-shaped symbol. This doll has fine blonde hair and eyes sculpted in a closed sleeping position. It is dressed in an original pink dress with white lace embroidery and a matching pink bonnet with ribbon ties. The second doll features fixed inset dark-coloured eyes with painted eyelashes and dark brown wavy synthetic hair. It is dressed in a cream Victorian-style cotton dress with lace trim. No maker marks are visible on the second doll.
Condition report:
The porcelain elements of both dolls appear to be in good condition with no visible chips or cracks. The synthetic hair on the brown-haired doll is dishevelled and requires styling. The clothing for both dolls is intact with minor signs of handling and age-related wear.
