A Victorian open-face pocket watch featuring a 925 silver case with a decorative milled edge and a suspension loop at 12 o’clock. The white enamel dial is set with black Roman numeral hour markers, an outer minute track, and a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position. The hands are designed in a traditional spade and whip style with a dark finish. This key-wind and key-set timepiece is accompanied by a heavy 925 silver curb-link Albert chain, featuring a T-bar and a swivel lobster-style clasp. Attached to the chain is a silver Victorian coin featuring the Jubilee Head portrait of Queen Victoria, inscribed with VICTORIA DEI GRATIA REGINA F: D:. A steel T-shaped winding and setting key is included on a small jump ring. Hallmarks including the lion passant for sterling silver are present on multiple links of the chain, the T-bar, and the jump rings.
Condition report:
The item displays wear consistent with age and use. Significant tarnishing and patina are present across the silver components. The enamel dial shows several fine hairline cracks, particularly around the centre. The steel key shows surface oxidation and rust. The movement has not been tested for timekeeping or mechanical functionality and is sold as-is for restoration or parts.
