Buyer's Premium:

An assortment comprising a 1937 Coronation souvenir tin, various British commemorative medallions, and a collection of pre-decimal and decimal coinage. The rectangular lithographed tin commemorates the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. The lid displays oval portraits of the King and Queen flanked by the GR VI royal cypher and a coat of arms. The medallions include a 1911 gilt-metal medallion for the Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary, suspended from a green, yellow, and red ribbon; a 1935 white metal medallion for the Silver Jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary with a red, white, and blue ribbon; and a bronze City of Sheffield Education Committee merit medallion featuring the city coat of arms. The coinage consists of loose British denominations including Victorian bronze pennies dated 1877 and 1896, along with later pennies, halfpennies, and silver or cupro-nickel denominations such as half-crowns, florins, and shillings. Two gold-coloured commemorative coins are housed in individual plastic sleeves.

Condition report:

The items are in varied, circulated condition. The tin exhibits significant surface oxidation, scratches, and lithograph loss. The medallions and coinage show typical signs of age, including toning and surface wear to the high points. Medallion ribbons are original but show fraying and soiling. No naming is present on the medallions.
