A pair of bookends formed from a natural agate geode, likely of Brazilian origin. Each piece has been cut and polished on two perpendicular faces to create functional supports. The polished display faces exhibit concentric banding in translucent tones of amber, burnt orange, and deep reddish-brown chalcedony. The central portion of each specimen features a cluster of pale, smoky macrocrystalline quartz. The reverse and outer surfaces retain the natural, unworked rough volcanic matrix typical of this geological formation.
Condition report:
The specimens are in good condition with high-quality polishing to the display faces. As natural geological items, they contain inherent internal fissures, mineral inclusions, and surface irregularities. No notable post-production damage or significant chipping is evident.
