Buyer's Premium:

A German architectural bracket-style mantel clock, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The stained wooden case, likely constructed from mahogany or beech, features a curved pediment with a central carved shell motif. The circular white dial is set within a beaded brass bezel and displays black Roman numerals interspersed with red fleur-de-lis motifs. The dial is flanked by two fluted pilasters on a stepped plinth base resting on bracket feet. The movement is a mechanical, twin-train, spring-driven type with a pendulum and strikes on a coiled wire gong. The dial is marked with the crossed arrows trademark of the Hamburg American Clock Company (HAC), while the brass movement plate is stamped with the Junghans logo, consisting of a letter J within an eight-pointed star. This combination of marks indicates the clock was produced during the period of collaboration or merger between these two prominent German firms.
Width: 36 cm
Height: 32 cm.

Condition report:

The wooden case displays signs of age-related wear, including minor scuffs, scratches, and a light accumulation of surface dust. The dial shows some light discolouration and minor soiling. The movement appears complete with the pendulum present, though it remains untested for mechanical functionality, timekeeping accuracy, or strike performance. The glass and brass bezel are intact.
