A vintage oval-shaped wash tub or utility basin of traditional form. The vessel is constructed from galvanised steel with a protective zinc coating. It features a ribbed body for added structural integrity and a reinforced rolled rim. Two fixed metal loop handles are attached to the shorter sides with rivets. This type of domestic metalware was widely used throughout the 20th century for laundry and agricultural purposes in the United Kingdom.
Condition report:
The item is in fair vintage condition with evidence of age and functional wear. There is visible surface oxidation and localised spots of surface rust, notably near the rim and base. The body exhibits minor scuffs, scratches, and small dents consistent with its utilitarian nature.
