A set of porcelain dinner and tea wares by Winterling, manufactured in the Schwarzenbach factory in Bavaria. The service is decorated in the Indian Blue pattern, characterised by a mottled cobalt blue ground with a textured, speckled effect. The central decoration consists of transfer-printed folk-art style floral sprays in shades of yellow, ochre, and orange with black scrollwork accents. The rims are bordered with bands of orange-gold dots and repeating scroll patterns. The collection includes a lidded teapot, a large two-handled lidded tureen, a lidded sugar bowl, a milk jug, dinner plates, side plates, tea cups, and saucers. Each piece features a gold-coloured backstamp on the underside with a stylized crown over interlocking W characters, the word Winterling in script, and the block capitals Schwarzenbach, Bavaria, Germany, and Western Germany.
Condition report:
The service is in good overall condition for its age. No chips, cracks, or repairs are visible upon inspection. One dinner plate shows a small mark to the glaze surface. Some minor surface wear and small factory firing imperfections consistent with regular use and age may be present.
