The chair is designed with wide, curved, out-swept arms on shaped uprights. The solid wood seat is hinged, lifting to reveal a recessed commode aperture containing the original ceramic liner and lid, which is decorated with concentric rings. The chair is supported by front block legs terminating in turned feet.
Condition report:
The item is in fair antique condition. There is significant wear to the finish on the mahogany seat, including fading, surface scuffs, and marks. General surface wear, minor bruising, and scratches are present throughout the wooden frame, most notably on the arms and feet. The internal ceramic component and lid appear to be intact and without visible cracks.
