An antique No. 2 manual meat mincer produced under the Beatrice brand by John Harper & Co Ltd of Willenhall. The device is constructed from heavy cast iron and features a bench-mounted design. The side of the cylindrical body is cast with the maker mark BEATRICE within a raised rectangular cartouche, and the hopper is cast with the model designation No. 2. The assembly includes the main body with an integrated screw clamp, an internal feed screw, and a hand-cranked handle with a turned wooden grip. A perforated cutting plate is located at the front of the unit.
Condition report:
The item is in an as-found condition, exhibiting significant surface oxidation and a dark rust patina over the cast iron surfaces. The wooden handle shows signs of age and wear with loss to the original finish. Internal components appear complete but are heavily rusted. Mechanical movement is untested and the item is sold as a restoration project or decorative object.
