The collection includes tobacco tins for brands such as Ogden’s St Bruno Rough Cut, Three Nuns Empire Blend, Old Holborn Blended Virginia featuring an illustration of Staple Inn, Benson and Hedges Super Virginia Cigarettes, and Tom Thumb 10 Cigars. Apothecary and medicinal tins feature Sucrets Antiseptic Throat Lozenges, Vocalzone Antiseptic and Germicidal Pastilles, and Smith and Kendon Catarrh Pastilles. Household items include a Maw’s Fuller’s Earth shaker tin, Day and Martin’s Wax Shoe Polish, and a Prilect Travelling Iron tin. Decorative examples comprise a Paterson’s Petticoat Tails shortbread tin decorated with 18th-century figures, a royal commemorative tin depicting King George VI and Queen Elizabeth flanking the Victoria Memorial, and several floral designs, including an oval tin with Sir Joshua Reynolds’ The Age of Innocence. One modern circular silver-tone tin is marked Maria Calderara.

Condition report:
Condition varies across the collection. Most items show signs of age-related wear including surface oxidation, scratches, paint loss, and atmospheric fading. Some examples, notably the large rectangular floral tin and certain tobacco tins, exhibit more advanced rusting and pitting.
