A trio of Isle of Man philatelic numismatic covers (PNCs) issued in 2001 to mark the 100-day countdown to the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Each cover features a single Isle of Man postage stamp, including a 40p denomination, with illustrations based on sketches by artist Michael Noakes. The covers are cancelled with pictorial circular date stamps (CDS) from Douglas, Isle of Man, dated 29 October 2001, inscribed GOLDEN Jubilee 100 days. Each cover incorporates an inset commemorative proof-like medal or coin depicting various subjects, including an equestrian portrait and profiles of the Queen and Prince Philip. These covers are part of a limited edition series by Mercury Covers, bearing individual serial numbers including M 1871 and M 3762. The cachets feature watercolour-style illustrations and text attributing the imagery to The Daily Life of the Queen: An Artist’s Diary by Vivien Noakes.
Condition report:
The covers are in Very Fine (VF) philatelic condition. The paper remains clean and bright with no evidence of foxing, toning, or edge wear. Stamps are well-centred with intact perforations and clear, crisp cancellations. The commemorative coins are well-preserved with bright, proof-like surfaces within their mounts.
