A British Mid-Century Modern two-tier side table, often referred to as a step table. The piece features a staggered design with a rectangular upper tier and a larger rectangular lower tier. The surfaces are finished in a straight-grained wood veneer, likely teak or afromosia. The table is supported by four tapered, splayed legs. The underside bears a rectangular black and silver metal label which reads: THIS IS A Vanson PRODUCTION. Vanson was the brand name for contemporary furniture manufactured by the British firm W.G. Evans and Sons Ltd during the mid-20th century.
Condition report:
The table shows signs of use consistent with age and typical wear. There are several visible surface scratches and a fine hairline crack in the veneer on the top tier. General minor scuffs and marks are present on the legs and edges.
