A United Kingdom 2003 silver proof fifty pence coin commemorating the centenary of the formation of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU). Struck by the Royal Mint in .925 sterling silver, the coin is heptagonal in shape with a proof finish featuring frosted relief details against mirrored fields. The reverse design commemorates the suffragette movement, depicting a figure chained to railings alongside a scroll inscribed VOTES FOR WOMEN, with the dates 1903 and 2003. The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is presented in its original Royal Mint red leatherette box with a specification card.
