Description
A vintage oyster shucking knife produced by the French manufacturer Econome. The tool comprises a short, pointed stainless steel blade with a double-edged profile. The blade is stamped with the manufacturer mark Econome above Inox-France. A wide, circular metal guard is positioned at the bolster to protect the hand during use. The blade is set into a rounded, bulbous wooden handle, typical of French culinary implements, designed to provide a firm and ergonomic grip.
Condition report:
The tool is in good vintage condition. The stainless steel blade exhibits minor surface scratches and faint signs of sharpening consistent with age and previous use. The wooden handle remains solid with a smooth finish, showing light wear and some minor discolouration where it meets the metal bolster.
