Description
This commemorative thimble was produced in the late 20th century to celebrate the British Royal Family. The thimble is constructed from a silver-coloured metal and features a cast basket-weave pattern around the base, transitioning into a traditional dimpled pattern on the shoulder. The top is inset with a sepia-toned photographic portrait of Diana, Princess of Wales, holding a young child, likely Prince William. The portrait is protected by a clear domed cabochon. Small, indistinct stamped marks are visible on the exterior rim of the base. The thimble is housed in its original blue textured presentation box with a red velvet-lined interior.
Condition report:
The thimble exhibits light surface tarnish consistent with age. The clear dome over the portrait is in good condition without significant scratching. The presentation box shows minor signs of shelf wear but remains structurally sound and retains its original lining.
