There is significant representation of Spain and its colonies, featuring King Alfonso XIII issues for Isla de Cuba and Filipinas, including several with Impto de Guerra (War Tax) overprints and a Spanish 1854 Cuatro Onzas issue. Portuguese colonial history is extensively represented by issues from Angola, Timor, Mocambique, S. Thome e Principe, Angra, Funchal, Guine, and Cabo Verde, including Vasco da Gama designs and Republica overprints. Other notable inclusions are Ottoman Empire issues with crescent and star designs (denominations in Paras and Piastre), Netherlands (Nederland), Italian States and Italy (Franco Bollo and Poste Italiane), and Bavaria (Bayern) coat of arms issues. The collection consists of both used and unused examples, exhibiting various circular date stamps and numeral cancellations. Printing techniques include engraving and lithography, with mixed perforation types.

Condition report:

Stamps are primarily used with a range of light to heavy circular date stamps and numeral cancellations. Centring is variable throughout the group, ranging from poor to fine. Visible physical faults include typical age-related wear, such as blunted or short perforations, minor toning, and occasional small creases. Perforations vary between clean-cut and rough, with some early issues appearing imperforate. Detailed information regarding watermarks or gum condition (original gum, hinged, or regummed) is not available as the items are housed in protective packaging.
