Description
A Venetian glass liqueur set comprising a bulbous-bodied decanter with a matching pointed stopper and several footed glasses. The set is crafted from vibrant translucent cobalt blue glass. Each piece is decorated with an intricate silver overlay featuring scrolling foliate and floral motifs. The decanter is further accented with solid silver-toned bands at the neck, shoulder, and base, while the glasses feature matching bands at the rims and feet. This style of silver overlay is characteristic of mid-20th-century Murano glass production, often associated with the San Giorgio pattern.
Condition report:
The set is in good vintage condition. There is visible tarnishing and wear to the silver overlay and banding, particularly around the rims and bases, which is consistent with age and regular use. No chips, cracks, or significant structural damage are evident.
