Description

This pair of modern collector dolls is attributed to The Leonardo Collection, styled in traditional Scottish Highland piper attire. Each doll is constructed with a bisque porcelain head, hands, and lower legs, joined to a stuffed cloth body. The dolls feature fixed blue eyes with applied upper eyelashes and blonde synthetic wigs styled in a short bob with a fringe.

The dolls are dressed in elaborate, matching Scottish piper costumes. Each outfit includes a black velvet-effect jacket decorated with silver-tone braided trim and spherical silver-tone buttons. The kilts feature different tartan patterns; one doll wears a predominantly blue, green, and red tartan, while the other wears a red and green tartan. Accessories include large black faux-fur sporrans with white tassels and black velvet-effect Glengarry-style hats with tartan bands and white feathers. Both dolls wear white hose and black shoes and are depicted holding miniature sets of bagpipes with velvet bags and wooden-style pipes.

A yellow cardboard tag is attached to one doll, which contains generic quality assurance text regarding the hand-finished nature of the porcelain. No specific manufacturer marks are visible on the porcelain components. The dolls are presented on simple white rectangular display stands.

Height: 48 cm to 51 cm.

Condition report:

The dolls appear to be in good overall condition and have likely been used for display purposes. The clothing and accessories appear original and complete. No significant damage, chips, or repairs are visible to the porcelain elements. One doll retains its original informational tag.
