Description
A 1983 United Kingdom Proof Coin Collection issued by the Royal Mint. The collection consists of various denominations in proof finish, including copper-coloured, silver-coloured cupro-nickel, and gold-coloured nickel-brass coins. The set includes the half penny, one penny, two pence, five pence, ten pence, twenty pence, fifty pence, and one pound denominations. A rectangular commemorative token is also included, bearing the inscription Elizabeth R below a crown with the date 1983. The coins are housed in the original blue faux-leather folding case, which features the Royal Mint emblem stamped in silver on the exterior. The set is accompanied by the original white and purple descriptive card titled United Kingdom Proof Coin Collection 1983. The coins are struck with mirrored proof finishes and frosted design elements.
Condition report:
The coins exhibit sharp mirrored proof strikes. Visible hazing and dark toning are present on the surfaces of the fifty pence and twenty pence coins. The blue presentation case and the descriptive card are in good condition with no significant wear or damage.
