Description
This collection of fraternal regalia is associated with the Independent Order of the Golden Link (I.O.L.G.) and comprises several sashes and an assortment of gilt-metal and enamel medals. The sashes are constructed from purple and maroon moiré fabric, with several featuring gold bullion thread embroidery. Inscriptions on the purple sashes include AMY JOHNSON GLADE No. 184, D.O.M., and O.L.G., while the maroon sashes are embroidered with PRIMA or FAIR CITY GLADE No. 684. Several sashes are finished with gold-coloured fringe. The accompanying medals and bars include various designs with inscriptions such as PRIMA, O.L.G., and AMY JOHNSON, along with nameplates for FAY and HEATHER. Notable components include a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee commemorative cross dated 2012 with GRATIA DEI EIIR lettering and inset colourless stones, an I.O.L.G. 80 ANNIVERSARY medal, and gilt-metal tokens featuring a shamrock with D.O.M. (Deo Optimo Maximo) superimposed on a swastika. The medals are suspended from various silk ribbons in red, white, blue, and maroon.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of age and regular use. The fabric sashes exhibit minor fraying to the edges and some loose threads to the bullion embroidery. The metal components show light tarnishing and minor wear to the enamel surfaces.
