Description
A collection of modern British and international military insignia, challenge coins, and commemorative pins. The group includes a Royal Air Force Digby 100th anniversary challenge coin (1918-2018) featuring a multi-colour enamel Union Jack and the motto Icarus Renatus, and an aviation centenary challenge coin inscribed with the opening lines of the poem High Flight by John Gillespie Magee Jr. British Army insignia includes a gilt metal Royal Logistic Corps cap badge with the motto We Sustain, a bimetal Royal Corps of Signals badge depicting Mercury on a globe with the motto Certa Cito, and a bimetal Royal Corps of Transport badge. International items comprise US military parachutist wings in silver-tone metal, US-style bronze-toned Senior Pilot wings with a central shield and star, and a Combined Endeavor 2000 military communications exercise pin. Additional items include a Canadian flag lapel pin, a miniature enamel RAF-style sweetheart pin, and a gilt star-shaped badge mounted on a brass plate.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally excellent condition. The challenge coins are well-preserved, with one presented in a clear plastic sleeve. The British cap badges show minor age-related oxidation to the brass backing plates, but the gilt and white metal finishes remain bright. Enamel work across all pins and coins is vibrant and free of significant chips or loss.
