Description
A matching set comprising a baluster-form jug and a large circular charger, both constructed from terracotta-coloured earthenware. The pieces feature a cream-coloured glaze and are decorated in a rustic, hand-painted style with stylized foliate and floral motifs in a palette of blue, green, yellow, and maroon. Both items are finished with a distinctive dark brown trailed or sgraffito-style interlocking loop border. The jug is designed with a flared rim, a pinched spout, and a simple loop handle with painted detailing, further accented by horizontal green bands around the neck. No factory marks, signatures, or inscriptions are visible on either piece.
Platter: 31cm diameter
Jug: 21cm height.
Condition report:
The items appear to be in generally good condition. A small surface mark or glaze pit is visible in the well of the platter. There are minor firing irregularities and glaze pops consistent with the rustic style of manufacture. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are visible.
