A 20th-century decorative leather panel featuring a hand-painted polychromatic rendition of the Aztec Sun Stone, also known as the Piedra del Sol. The central design depicts the face of the solar deity Tonatiuh, surrounded by concentric rings containing various calendrical glyphs. These include the four symbols of previous eras (Nahui Ocelotl, Nahui Ehécatl, Nahui Quiyahuitl, and Nahui Atl), the twenty day signs of the Tonalpohualli calendar, and two fire serpents (Xiuhcoatl) meeting at the base of the outer ring. The colour palette utilizes turquoise, emerald green, yellow, and red. The reverse of the leather panel bears handwritten inscriptions in brown ink: Calendario Azteca, Museo Nacional de Antropologia e Historia, Cd. de Mexico D.F., Hecho a Mano, and a signature for Hector M.
