Description
A UK 1996 silver proof piedfort one pound coin. The reverse is the Celtic Cross type representing Northern Ireland, inscribed ONE POUND. The obverse is the Raphael Maklouf type. The coin is a piedfort strike, produced with double the thickness of a standard circulation issue. Struck in 925 silver. The specimen is housed in a clear protective capsule and presented in its original red Royal Mint case with the corresponding Certificate of Authenticity. This issue had a mintage of 14,354 pieces.
Condition report:
The coin is in proof condition, characterized by frosted design elements against mirrored fields. No visible wear, toning, or surface impairments are present. The presentation case and certificate appear well-preserved.
