Description
This collection consists of ten die-cast model vehicles from the Matchbox Models of Yesteryear series, manufactured by Lesney Products and Co. Ltd. in London, England. Each vehicle is constructed from die-cast metal with plastic components including wheels, interiors, and trim. The models are housed in their original tan and gold-toned window display boxes. The collection includes the following specific models: Y-1 1936 Jaguar SS100 in teal, Y-3 1934 Riley MPH in blue with racing number 6, Y-4 1930 Model J Duesenberg in two-tone green, Y-7 1912 Rolls-Royce in yellow and black, Y-8 1945 MG-TC in green with racing number 3, Y-10 1906 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost in white and silver, Y-11 1938 Lagonda in yellow and black, Y-14 1931 Stutz Bearcat in cream and red, Y-16 1928 Mercedes SS in white, and Y-17 1938 Hispano Suiza in light blue. The packaging features the Matchbox registered trademark logo and manufacturer attributions to Lesney Products and Co. Ltd. on the reverse of each box.
Condition report:
The die-cast vehicles appear to be in excellent, unplayed-with condition and remain secured within their original packaging. The original window boxes are generally in good condition for their age, exhibiting minor shelf wear including light creasing and small tears to some box edges. The box for the Y-7 Rolls-Royce features a small piece of clear adhesive tape on the top right corner. The cellophane windows appear intact across the collection. All models appear complete with original parts and accessories as issued.
