Description
A late 20th-century dining suite in the traditional reproduction style, likely of British manufacture. The suite includes an oval dining table featuring a shaped serpentine edge and a warm cherry or yew wood-toned veneer top. The table is supported by a central turned pedestal base terminating in four splayed cabriole-style legs. The underside of the table is fitted with metal hinges and a mechanism indicating an extendable design. Accompanying the table is a set of matching dining chairs, each designed with an arched, openwork splat back. The chair seats are upholstered in a contemporary grey and white floral patterned fabric. The construction utilizes a combination of solid wood and veneers with a high-gloss finish applied to the table surface. No maker’s marks or stamps were identified during inspection.
Condition report:
The suite is in good structural condition. The table top retains a high-gloss finish with some minor surface scratches and faint signs of use consistent with age and domestic environment. The upholstery on the chairs appears clean and well-maintained. All joints appear stable.
