Description

A British bronze one penny coin dated 1882. The obverse features the left-facing Bun Head effigy of Queen Victoria with a partial Latin inscription. The reverse depicts the seated figure of Britannia with a shield and trident. The coin is housed in a square cardboard flip holder with handwritten blue ink notations identifying the piece as Victoria 1882 H and ONE PENNY, indicating it was struck at the Heaton Mint in Birmingham.


Condition report:

The coin exhibits significant surface wear and heavy circulation, resulting in a loss of fine detail on both the obverse and reverse designs. There is heavy dark toning and apparent oxidation present. The cardboard flip holder shows minor wear and the plastic window is scuffed.
