Description
A collection of British cupro-nickel fifty pence coins dating from 1969 to 1983. Each heptagonal coin features the Machin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse with the inscription ELIZABETH II D G REG F D and the respective year of minting. The group includes the standard Britannia reverse designs and the 1973 commemorative issue featuring a ring of nine hands, struck to mark the United Kingdom’s accession to the European Economic Community. The coins are housed within a blue textured vinyl presentation folder containing clear plastic sleeves, with individual slots labelled for the years 1969, 1970, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, and 1983.
Condition report:
The coins are in circulated condition, showing typical surface wear, light scratches, and varying degrees of tarnish and oxidation consistent with age and use. The vinyl folder exhibits minor handling marks and light wear to the edges and plastic pockets.
