Description
A mortar and pestle set carved from dark grey speckled granite. The mortar features a flared circular body with a wide, flat rim and a solid flat base. The matching pestle is of cylindrical form with rounded ends. The set is of a style resembling the Goliath model by Cilio and other traditional Thai granite kitchenware, though no maker’s marks or inscriptions are visible on the surfaces.
Condition report:
The mortar shows small chips to the outer edge of the rim. The pestle exhibits surface residue and pitting consistent with previous use.
