Description
This collection comprises several volumes primarily focused on the local history of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, alongside a children’s activity book. Included is Melvyn Jones, Times Past Sheffield, published as part of the Great Cities series, presented in quarto hardcover with a pictorial dust jacket featuring a historical street scene. Also present is Images of Sheffield, a large-format quarto pictorial hardcover published in association with The Star newspaper, depicting the Sheffield Town Hall and various archival photographs. The collection includes Jill Murphy, Five Minutes’ Peace Jigsaw Book, a large-format pictorial board book containing seven twelve-piece jigsaw puzzles featuring the character Mrs Large. Completing the group is a softcover booklet titled Did You Know? Sheffield A Miscellany, which contains historical facts, quizzes, and regional dialect information. The volumes feature various binding styles including publisher’s cloth, pictorial boards, and wrappers.

Condition report:
The collection is in overall good condition. Minor shelf wear and light rubbing are visible to the corners and spine ends of the hardcovers. The dust jacket on the Melvyn Jones volume shows light handling marks and minor edge wear. The jigsaw book appears intact with all pieces present. The softcover miscellany shows minor creasing to the covers and extremities.
