Description
A United Kingdom Proof Coin Collection issued by the Royal Mint for the year 1983. The set contains a collection of decimal coins including the bronze half penny, one penny, and two pence; cupro-nickel five pence, ten pence, twenty pence, and fifty pence; and a nickel-brass one pound coin. The one pound coin represents the first year of issue for this denomination. The set includes a square metallic plaque inscribed Elizabeth R 1983 with a crown. The coins are held in a clear plastic display insert within a dark blue textured presentation case featuring a silver-coloured heraldic shield and the words ROYAL MINT on the lid. A cream-coloured booklet titled United Kingdom Proof Coin Collection 1983 is included.
Condition report:
Coins are proof strikes. Toning and atmospheric hazing are visible on the surfaces of the cupro-nickel denominations, particularly the fifty pence piece. The presentation case and booklet are preserved.
