Also included is a medallion commemorating the marriage of the Duke of York and Princess May of Teck, which bears the inscribed date JULY 6TH 1935. The collection is completed by a white metal medallion for the coronation of King Edward VIII and several smaller bronze and brass medallions, including an example depicting Queen Victoria.
Condition report:
The collection is in mixed condition with visible signs of age and handling. The British Empire Medal shows surface wear and moderate tarnish, with the ribbon appearing aged and frayed at the edges. Several of the silvered base metal commemorative medallions exhibit significant wear to the plating, exposing the underlying brass or copper. Various items show surface oxidation, pitting, and scratches. Some medallions are missing their original suspension rings or ribbons. The Austro-Hungarian medal displays an even dark patina with minor surface marks.
