Description
A lot comprising two items. The first is a framed impressionistic print on paper depicting a harbour scene with several fishing boats and trawlers moored side-by-side. The composition features a palette of soft blues and whites with red, green, and blue accents on the vessel hulls. The print bears a signature for Louis J. Sumhoff in the lower-left corner and is presented in a limed-wood effect frame with a white inner mount under glass. The second item is a hand-modelled studio pottery money box in the form of a tugboat. The vessel is incised with the name Dreamliner on the hull and features a pig character wearing a blue and white striped nautical shirt peering from the wheelhouse window. Nautical details include a large funnel, a golden-glazed horn, a lifebuoy marked HMS PIG, and coiled rope. The piece is finished in brown, blue, and golden-yellow glazes over an off-white ground. A coin slot is located on the top of the wheelhouse.
Condition report:
Both items appear to be in good condition. The print and frame show no visible signs of foxing, fading, or structural damage. The ceramic money box is free from visible chips, cracks, or repairs.
