Lot 350:
Description
A collection of maritime-themed decorative objects comprising relief-moulded plaques, a ship-in-a-bottle, and associated wares. The group includes a large circular plaque depicting a tall ship in high relief with an ornate scrollwork border, incised at the base with the date 1975 and an illegible script signature. Two additional oval relief plaques are included, fashioned from painted composite material; one depicts a three-masted ship and the other features a lighthouse with an attached yellow suspension cord. The lot also contains two small circular dishes with metallic centres featuring etched designs of the vessels Cutty Sark and Sovereign of the Seas. A miniature ship-in-a-bottle model features a multi-masted vessel with red cross markings on the sails, housed in a clear glass vessel with a flat base. Also present is a small oval wooden-framed monochrome print depicting a ship’s rigging and lantern. These items are characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century decorative souvenir production.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition, showing minor surface dust and light wear consistent with age. No significant chips, cracks, or signs of restoration are visible.
