Description

This single-blade folding fruit knife is constructed with a 925 silver blade and mother-of-pearl scales. The blade bears four struck hallmarks: a lion passant for sterling silver, a crown for the Sheffield assay office, a lowercase letter c for the year 1895, and the maker mark JYC for John Yeomans Cowlishaw. The handle features iridescent mother-of-pearl scales secured with pins and includes an unengraved rectangular 925 silver cartouche on one side.
Blade length: 6 cm (approximate).

Condition report:

The 925 silver blade shows surface tarnishing and oxidation, particularly at the pivot point. The edge is in good condition with no visible nicks. The mother-of-pearl scales are well-preserved with no chips or cracks. The folding action is functional.
