Description
A collection of philatelic materials comprising First Day Covers and miniature sheets, primarily commemorating the 1978 25th Anniversary of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The items are housed in blue binders with embossed adhesive labels identifying contents as Crown Colonies, Commonwealth, and New Zealand First Day Covers. The collection includes issues from various Commonwealth territories and Crown Colonies, including a Bahamas miniature sheet First Day Cover dated 27 June 1978 and a Samoa i Sisifo First Day Cover. A dedicated binder contains New Zealand First Day Covers, including the 1979 International Year of the Child issue dated 6 June 1979. The stamps are perforated and the covers feature printed cachets and circular date stamp cancellations. The materials are stored in clear plastic pocket pages.
Condition report:
The binders show moderate surface wear, scuffing, and some accumulation of dust. The First Day Covers and miniature sheets are generally in good condition, though some envelopes show evidence of light toning and minor foxing. Cancellations are clear and mostly do not obscure the primary stamp designs. Stamps appear to have good centring and intact perforations.
