This collection features two Bank of England One Pound (£1) banknotes alongside several commemorative and promotional coin sets. The banknotes include a Series C note featuring the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, signed by J.B. Page as Chief Cashier, with serial number Y20 397082. The second note is a Series D issue, also featuring Queen Elizabeth II, signed by D.H.F. Somerset as Chief Cashier. Both notes include standard security features such as watermark areas and embedded metallic threads. The accompanying numismatic items include a 1986 Commonwealth Games £2 commemorative coin housed in its original Royal Mint presentation folder. Additionally, the lot contains various brand-affiliated promotional coin sets, including Persil Cashback folders with decimal coinage, a Marlboro promotional set, a McVitie’s set, and a Crosse and Blackwell Branston Pickle set titled In for a Penny, In for a Pound, which contains a pre-decimal penny and a decimal one pound coin.


Condition report:

The banknotes are in circulated condition, graded approximately Fine to Very Good. Both notes exhibit heavy creasing, multiple vertical and horizontal folds, edge wear, and minor staining. The commemorative and promotional coin folders show minor edge wear and surface marks consistent with age and handling.
