Description
A vintage Meccano Outfit No. 6 construction set manufactured by Meccano Ltd., Liverpool. The set consists of various perforated tinplate and steel components, including plates and strips in red and green, blue circular plates and wheels, and brass pulleys. Smaller hardware, including nuts and bolts, is housed within a green tin featuring the Meccano brand name and a graphic of a boy. The components are organised within a yellow vacuum-formed plastic tray. The lot includes original instruction material, specifically detailing the construction of a Swing Bridge model. The box lid is marked MECCANO in yellow lettering against a black background and carries the inscription MADE IN ENGLAND BY MECCANO LTD.
Condition report:
The original cardboard box is in poor to fair condition, exhibiting significant wear, heavy tearing, and fraying at the edges with several adhesive tape repairs. The interior of the lid contains extensive blue ink scribbles. The internal vacuum-formed plastic tray shows signs of cracking and deformation. Metal components display evidence of play wear, including minor paint chipping and surface marks. The set appears largely complete based on the occupied tray slots; however, the exact piece count has not been verified and the item is sold as-seen.
